Pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 7192 and Executive Order No. 348, the Gender and Development (GAD) was institutionalized in the DOTC plans, programs and budget in the DOTC-Central Office, Attached Agencies and Corporations on 03 July 1995.
Gender and Development (GAD) is a development approach which reflects a change in outlook recognizing the equal contribution of women and men in all aspects and sectors of development. It includes the process of identifying interventions which transform gender disparities into opportunities that equally benefit women and men. |
|
OUR MISSION
Women and men in the DOTC community to equally participate in the development, management and operation of globally competitive, environment-friendly and people oriented, ensuring that such efforts will bring mutually beneficial results to both sexes thereby enhancing the quality of their lives. |

Welcome Message from the DOTC-GAD Focal Point

It is our hope that this will be your gateway in accessing relevant information on the various efforts of the Department in mainstreaming women's concerns in its plan and programs. Admittedly, a lot has yet to be done, but rest assured that we are unremittingly working with our Sectoral Offices, Attached Agencies and Corporation in planning and strategizing, to ensure that women empowerment and gender equality is observed/ respected in the transport sector. However, DOTC cannot do this alone. Your valuable involvement, support and contribution through comments and suggestions will give us an opportunity to improve our GAD mechanisms to fulfill this worthy advocacy. Again, thank you for visiting this page, our humble contribution to the furtherance of a gender-responsive development.
